Donut Franchise awards rights to Indonesia |
|
The Krispy Cream Donuts franchise continued its Asian expansion, awarding development rights for Indonesia. The deal, announced in a news release, calls for the development of up to 20 new Krispy Kreme Franchise outlets, with the first scheduled to open next month.
The franchise rights went to PT Premier Doughnut Indonesia, which is principally owned by PT MAP Premier Indonesia. The company is involved in department and specialty retail stores in major Indonesian cities, according to a news release from the Krispy Kreme franchise business. Winston-Salem-based Krispy Kreme has said that international franchising will be one of its main growth tools, at least while it deals with its numerous accounting and legal problems.
Since May, the company has announced international franchise agreements, not including the Indonesian deal, that call for opening up to 190 new stores in the next five years.
